The Christmas Elves are busy at Villa Nova Winery & Passport Program

It seems like we are almost ready for Christmas. We have lots of red, white and fruit wines, bottle packages, and wine baskets. Some of our newer releases include Aenigma 2014 (red) and Vidal 2013 (white) We have 3 great Saucy ciders to present – Hard Apple, Strapplebarb and our latest is “Hard and Hopped”.

Our association is offering a passport program – a $25 passport entitles you to beverage and food pairings at 13 wineries (4 with ciders) & craft breweries. We offer a sparkling cider with apple streusel from the Apple Place in Simcoe. They offer a range of fresh apples, baked goods, Cider Keg’s sparkling cider and Christmas gift selections. Their apple cider donut and coffee is the best deal in Norfolk County.

The older half of our lineup have been drinking well – The Mystery 2014 and Troutfly Riesling 2014 in white, Aenigma 2014 and The Heist 2014 in red, Norfolk Rose, peach and cherry wines. Individual wines are packaged for Christmas and we have gift baskets. We would love to customize a gift basket for you with your inclusions such as pictures. Our senior elf can probably make it while you watch, on weekends.

Simcoe Eat& Drink: Saucy Cider at Villa Nova Winery

Welcome back to the Eat & Drink Festival at Simcoe., in “the Aud” on the Norfolk Fair Grounds April 9-11. They have added on a Thursday evening (5-10), to go with Friday & Saturday. We will be there with Saucy Cider, Sangria, our wines and a raffle for Young Frankenstein theatre tickets from the Lighthouse Theatre in Port Dover.

Open House at Villa Nova: Cider, Bluegrass & Nature June 27

We welcome you to our annual open house at Villa Nova Estate Winery (12-7, June 27). This year you can enjoy bluegrass music, and sample the wines and views of our site. We will pair our our new ciders, and VQA wine releases with foods provided by chef Dave Mottershawl from LOKA Snacks including the local favourite “fish on a bun”.

“Views over the valley” shows a natural landscape with new wetlands created by ALUS in 2014. From the winery we have monitored the activities of Northern Harriers who have a ground nest in the middle of the farm. Barn Swallows (Winery Swallows) are a constant source of entertainment. Bring your binoculars and check out our bird list on the website.
